About Elmwood Resort
Elmwood Resort is located on the west shores of Lake Mary. Lake
Mary is one of the larger lakes in the Alexandria Lakes Area. It covers close to 3,000
acres, is about 5 miles long and 1¼ miles wide. Average depth of the lake is about 24
feet, although there or areas where the depth reaches 40 feet. Its waters are very clean
and clear with water clarity of 6½ feet. Over half of the shoreline of Lake Mary is still
undeveloped which enhances its natural beauty.

Fishing is very popular on Lake Mary. There are excellent populations of
walleye, bass, northern, crappie and sunfish. Spring is the best time
for the elusive walleye and summer months you'll find plenty of panfish, northern,
walleye and
bass. Alexandria is known as the Bass Capitol of Minnesota and Lake Mary is one of the
reasons why. |

You'll
find Lake Mary to be an excellent lake for water sports of all kinds. Its clean,
clear water and sandy bottom are great for swimming. There is plenty of open water with
few obstructions for boating, water skiing and personal watercraft. With its larger size
and not being as developed as some other lakes in the area, you'll find Lake Mary will not
be overpopulated with watercraft.
